A Patron Account is a secondary account type that is attached to a User’s personal login. A User does not need to have their own Legacy Room established before creating a Patron Account, but you do need to have joined Heirloom as a User to access the Patron Feature.
Locating the Patron Feature
Locate your account profile picture in the top left corner of your home dashboard.
Click on your profile picture and after the drop down menu appears, select the “+ Add Patron Account” button.
Start your Patron Account
A User will see a popup introducing the Patron features. Click “Get Started” in the bottom right corner to proceed.
In the next window fill in the personal details of the person about whom you are creating the Patron account.
Once adding all known details to the Patron profile, a User will have the option to add a profile picture to the profile.
Whether a User includes a photo or not, they will be able to proceed to the next stage which is selecting the type of relationship between the Heirloom User creating the Patron account, and the subject of the Patron account.
After selecting a relation, a User will have completed initiating a Patron account.
Congratulations!
If the person is already deceased, we recommend creating the account without including their date of death so that you may easily create the content of the Legacy Room. Once you have enhanced the account to a satisfactory level, you can update the account by adding the Date of Death in the account settings.
To locate the patron account settings, find the “Settings” button on the left navigational panel and click it.
By scrolling down the user will see “Is this person living?” between “Date of birth” and “Delete Patron Account”. A User must select “Deceased” which will become highlighted purple and a drop down will appear to input the Date of Death.
Building a Legacy Room
Creating content in a Patron account is exactly the same as in a Primary account. The only features that are unavailable are the DocuVault for highly secure and confidential information, as well as the ability to add Trustees to the Patron Acc.
