Introducing Cookbook: Generations of Stories and Culture

The Family Cookbook is where special family memories around food and recipes can be organized.

Locate your Cookbook area

You can find your Cookbook in the left panel of your Dashboard, where you will be able to create and explore your recipes that you have crafted and stored with care.

      Open Navigation Panel View

Step 1: Start Your New Recipe

To create a recipe, click the "Create a Recipe" button on the "Add a Recipe" tile that will be automatically displayed.

Step 2: Create a Title & Note your Recipe

You can start with a title of your Recipe, for example ‘Grandma’s Christmas Mince Pies’, and add your recipe below.

You can format your recipe with headings, bulleted points and bold or italics for those important and unmissable instructions. Feel free to get creative!

Step 3: Add Your Ingredients

Type the ingredient name, then the quantity and its corresponding unit of measurement. You can edit the unit of measurement on the right side, by clicking the drop down bar under the term "Units".

Next you will be able to put in the preparation time and portion yield of recipe.

Few recipes only have 1 ingredient, so to manage your ingredients with more or fewer lines, edit them by clicking on "Add more +" at the bottom of the ingredients list, or clicking the bin icon at the end of each line to remove.

Step 4: Choose a Display Picture

The cover picture that will be displayed in your Cookbook is uploaded in the "Thumbnail" area.
You will be able to change this later after completing and saving your recipe (you will also have the space to add more photos in the gallery section).

Step 5: Choose Visibility & Enrich with Attachments

Much like your Keepsakes, you’ll have the following options to specify or leave as default:
  1. Privacy preference: select who can view this recipe (ie. just you or your selected audience)
  2. Tag any Tribe members: for example, tag your Uncle’s profile to the recipe of his renowned steak rub.
  3. Add photos: upload photos of the beautiful result, that special brand of butter or even that specific tone of golden brown that says it's ready.
  4. Add links: such as website reviews, youtube videos for special techniques, or your cooking playlist.
  5. Include documents: add PDFs or spreadsheets

Managing Your Recipes

To edit your Cookbook or any Recipes, simply click on the recipe you wish to edit or delete and locate the edit ‘pencil’ icon and the three dots in the top right corner for the delete icon.

Fun Feature!

When you click on your recipe in your Cookbook and view it opened, you have a feature at the top of your ingredients list to toggle the number of servings you wish to make.

For example, if your recipe serves 2 people, but you are hosting 6, slide the toggle over to “3x” and it will automatically double the quantity for each ingredient without you having to calculate anything!
